How roofs get paid for in Broken Arrow
Hail claims done by Oklahoma's rules, the discounts and grants that lower the price, and financing for the roofs that aren't a claim.
Insurance claims, by the book
Most Broken Arrow roofs are replaced on a hail or wind claim, and we handle a lot of them. Our part is the documentation, the adjuster meeting, an estimate matched to the approved scope, and supplements for what's missed. Your part is filing the claim, paying the deductible, and receiving the checks. We don't take assignments of benefits, we don't use contingency agreements, and we don't touch the deductible — Oklahoma law (59 O.S. §1151.30) prohibits a roofer from paying, waiving or rebating any part of it, and every estimate we write comes with the written notice the statute requires. The full process is in the hail claim guide.
Discounts that lower the premium
Class 4 impact-resistant shingles earn a discount on the wind-and-hail portion of the premium from most Oklahoma carriers — commonly 5 to 25 percent of that portion, $150 to $500 a year on a typical policy. We hand you the manufacturer's certification form the day the roof is done. A FORTIFIED Roof earns a separate and usually larger discount — 3 to 42 percent depending on the carrier — with the designation certificate from the evaluator. Both can move a roof from ACV back to replacement-cost coverage with some carriers. Ask your agent for the numbers before you choose; if your carrier's discount is tiny, shop the policy with the roof.
The OKReady grant
Under the Strengthen Oklahoma Homes Act (HB 3089, 2024), the Oklahoma Insurance Department's OKReady program opened on January 12, 2026 with grants of up to $10,000 per home toward a FORTIFIED Roof — owner-occupied homes with a homestead exemption on file with the county assessor, first come, first served, work done by an IBHS-approved contractor. We'll check your homestead status, help with the application, build to the standard and coordinate the evaluator. FORTIFIED roof details.
Financing for the roofs that aren't a claim
When the roof is simply old, or the claim came back at actual cash value, we offer financing through our lending partners: 12-month same-as-cash promotions for homeowners who want to pay it off with a bonus or a tax refund, and fixed-rate terms of 3 to 10 years for the rest. Approval takes a few minutes online, before any work starts, and doesn't obligate you. Payment terms are in writing on every estimate — a modest material deposit when the shingles are delivered, the balance when the roof is done and swept. No large deposits, ever.
